The Adult Learning Disability Service, also called HealthELanarkershire, has designed this section of the NHS Lanarkshire website to help people with a learning disability get accessible health information in various formats.
These webpages will hold the leaflets & booklets, DVD’s and easy read letter templates which will aid health professionals to communicate effectively with their patients. The information in the leaflets & booklets, DVD’s and easy read letter templates are intended only as a guide to people with learning disabilities and health and social care professionals.

- MRI scan
MRI scan takes pictures of inside your body. - Biopsy

Colonoscopy is a test to check your colon (bowel) - CT Scan
CT Scans let us take pictures of the inside of your body and bones. - Ultrasound
Ultrasound scans let us take moving pictures of the inside of your body and bones. - Endoscopy
Endoscopy is a test that checks your tummy - Laparoscopy
Is an operation that allows the doctor to go inside your tummy. - Having your temperature taken
Having your temperature taken can let us know if you are unwell. - Plaster Cast
If you break a bone you may need to have a plaster cast put on. - Having an eye test in hospital
