How to manage your nails

Nails can become thicker or change shape throughout your life and cause discomfort or pain and may become difficult to treat. Regular self-care can help you manage and stop these conditions from causing discomfort and being too difficult to manage.

If you have a hot, red, swollen, or painful foot with blood, pus or other discharge from an open wound. Please contact the department as soon as possible.

All our Podiatrists are registered by the Health and Care Professions council (HCPC) who ensure that staff meet their standards for training, professional behaviour and health.

What is Podiatry?

Podiatry’s primary aim is to improve the mobility, independence and quality of life for their patients.

Podiatrists specialise in the foot, ankle and leg, leading the patient care through the whole journey including prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Podiatrists work in a variety of places and can work with a team of people including doctors and nurses.
