In the lead-up to the NHS Lanarkshire Staff Awards 2026, we are shining a spotlight on the exceptional individuals and teams shortlisted for this year’s awards.
The Sexual and Reproductive Health Team provides care at moments when people may feel anxious, vulnerable or worried about being judged.
From the first appointment with administrative staff to highly specialised nursing and medical care, the team creates a safe, confidential and welcoming environment.
They take time to listen, explain and reassure, treating every patient with dignity and adapting their approach to individual circumstances, beliefs and communication needs.
Their compassion is especially important for young people, asylum seekers and people facing social, safeguarding or access barriers.
The team advocates for patients, works closely with partner services and offers flexible options, including walk-in and bookable clinics.
Their young people’s clinics are among the most heavily attended in Scotland. Patient feedback repeatedly describes feeling listened to, at ease and treated with kindness. Those words capture what makes this team special: clinical excellence combined with genuine human connection.
The NHS Lanarkshire Staff Awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 7 October 2026.
