Thank you to three members of our NHS Lanarkshire team who have participated in the filming of a series of NHS 24 winter films.
The short films are based on highlighting the most frequent self-care outcomes for low acuity presentations to their 111 service. Self-care outcomes account for approximately 30% of all calls to 111 and by directing these calls to the right care in the right place (i.e., self-care, at home), people are supported and enabled in their recovery and NHS 24 can continue to support people with more complex care needs.
Featuring in the UTI film highlighting self-care options, Dr Mike Coates, Clinical Director NHS Lanarkshire Out of Hours, commented:
“I was really pleased to support the NHS 24 national campaign to encourage patients to consider self-care options. It’s important to raise awareness and help patients seek the right care in the right place and highlighting the many self-care options that exist will help ease the pressure on our services.”
Further films will follow including:
- Laura McCabe, Advanced Nurse Practitioner at Hunter Health Centre
- Hayley McGuire, Community Pharmacist at Craigneuk and Petersburn Pharmacy
The film will be promoted on NHS 24 and NHS Lanarkshire channels.
