Nominate a colleague for Scotland’s Health Awards 2026

Jun 25, 2026

With our local Staff Awards now closed for entries, the opportunity to celebrate excellence continues at a national level.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate a colleague, team or volunteer for this year’s NHS Lanarkshire Staff Awards. More than 360 nominations were submitted, recognising the outstanding people and teams who make a difference across our organisation every day.

Staff across NHS Lanarkshire can now nominate colleagues, teams and volunteers for Scotland’s Health Awards 2026.

The national awards celebrate the extraordinary achievements of people working across health and social care in Scotland, recognising those who go above and beyond to deliver compassionate, high-quality care and support to patients, families and communities.

Nominations are now open, with a wide range of categories giving staff the opportunity to recognise colleagues from clinical, non-clinical, support, volunteer and team roles.

There are also some categories in Scotland’s Health Awards that are not included in our local Staff Awards, offering further opportunities to recognise colleagues nationally. These include categories such as Midwife, Allied Health Professional, Healthcare Scientist, Pharmacist, Young Achiever, Global Citizenship, Integrated Care and Tackling Health Inequalities.

For anyone who submitted a nomination for this year’s NHS Lanarkshire Staff Awards, there is no need to do anything further. These nominations will automatically be submitted for consideration in Scotland’s Health Awards.

However, staff who submitted a nomination for the NHS Lanarkshire Staff Awards are also welcome to submit their nomination directly to Scotland’s Health Awards if they wish, particularly if they feel their nomination may fit one of the additional national categories.

For anyone who missed the NHS Lanarkshire Staff Awards deadline, this is another opportunity to shine a spotlight on an individual, team or volunteer whose work deserves national recognition.

Whether it is someone who consistently goes the extra mile, a team delivering excellent care, a colleague making improvements through innovation, or a volunteer making a real difference, Scotland’s Health Awards are a chance to say thank you and share their story.

Nominations are free to submit and close at 12 noon on 23 August 2026.

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 12 November 2026 at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange.

Staff can find out more and submit a nomination on the Scotland’s Health Awards website:
