Have your say in the staff travel survey

Mar 19, 2024

Staff across NHS Lanarkshire have been taking part in the staff travel survey, giving valuable insights to improve the commuting experience for all employees.

The electronic survey, which closes on 31 March, is open to all staff members and seeks input on various aspects of travel and transport support.

With the rising costs of fuel impacting travel expenses, NHS Lanarkshire’s sustainability team is keen to hear ideas from its staff on how to make commuting to and from work more affordable.

The organization recognizes the importance of understanding the needs and preferences of its workforce to develop effective strategies for enhancing travel options.

Craig Brown, Head of Sustainability and Environmental Performance, said: “Sustainability lies at the heart of our mission for NHS Lanarkshire, in line with our new Healthcare Strategy, ‘Our Health Together.’

“Embracing change means rethinking our approach to travel, ensuring affordability, sustainability, and wellbeing.

“We have been actively enhancing active travel options for staff through initiatives like bike hire and secure shelters for bikes. Yet, we must go further.

“By seeking input from our staff, we can tailor solutions to encourage walking and cycling to work while making commuting both cost-effective and eco-friendly. Your voice matters in shaping a greener future for all.”
