Brian Moore thanked for dedicated service to North Lanarkshire Integration Joint Board

Jun 30, 2026

Brian Moore has been thanked for his dedicated service and leadership after completing two terms as a member of the North Lanarkshire Integration Joint Board.

Mr Moore has been a member of the IJB for eight years and was appointed Chair in June 2025. He previously served as Vice Chair from June 2022 and was also Chair of the Board’s Performance, Finance and Audit Committee.

He has also been a strong advocate for service improvement and innovation, including work to support people to live well and independently at home, and the development of partnerships with Strathclyde and Caledonian Universities.

Mr Moore is currently Chair of the State Hospital Board for Scotland and was previously chief officer of Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership.

Since qualifying as a social worker in 1980, he has held a range of management and leadership roles, bringing considerable experience in community engagement, service development and improvement, partnership working and organisational change.

Mr Moore said: “It has been a privilege to serve on the North Lanarkshire Integration Joint Board and to have had the opportunity to chair the Board during a period of important work for health and social care services.

“I have seen first-hand the dedication, compassion and professionalism of staff across North Lanarkshire. Their commitment to improving people’s lives has been inspiring.

“I am proud of the progress made through strong partnership working between the IJB, NHS Lanarkshire, North Lanarkshire Council, the voluntary sector and our communities. That partnership approach is vital if we are to continue to improve outcomes for people and support them to live well, safely and independently.

“I’m grateful for the support I have received from fellow Board members, senior leaders, staff and partners during my time on the IJB and I’m certain they will continue to build on the progress we have achieved.”

Claire Rae, Chief Officer of University Health & Social Care North Lanarkshire, said: “Brian has made an outstanding contribution to health and social care in North Lanarkshire.

“This dedication has been clear throughout his time on the IJB, and he has brought significant experience, integrity and insight to the role of Chair.

“Brian’s leadership has helped strengthen partnership working across health, social care, local government and the voluntary sector. He has consistently championed improvement, innovation and better outcomes for the people and communities we serve.

“On behalf of University Health & Social Care North Lanarkshire, I want to thank Brian for his commitment, guidance and support. We are very grateful for everything he has given to the IJB and to the wider partnership.”

The Board will confirm future chairing arrangements in due course.
