Thanks to our domestic and estates teams

Jun 17, 2026

NHS Lanarkshire Domestic and Estates Cleaning Services staff are being thanked after the Board once again achieved strong results in the latest NHS Scotland National Cleaning Compliance Report.

The Quarter 4 2025/26 report, covering January to March 2026, showed NHS Lanarkshire maintained an overall green performance rating – meaning compliance levels remained above the national 90 per cent target for both domestic and estates services.

Domestic cleaning performance across the Board achieved 97 per cent compliance, with all hospital and community sites remaining above target. Estates performance also remained green overall at 94.5 per cent compliance.

Jacqui McGeough, Interim Director of Property and Sustainability, said: “Cleaning and estates performance is monitored regularly through national standards, local monitoring and independent peer review processes. These results are a reflection of the fantastic work carried out every day by our domestic, estates and facilities teams across NHS Lanarkshire.

“Their work often happens behind the scenes but it makes a huge difference to patient care, safety and experience.

“As we mark National Healthcare Estates and Facilities Day, I want to personally thank all of our colleagues for their continued professionalism, commitment and pride in what they do.”

As part of National Healthcare Estates and Facilities Day on Wednesday 17 June, NHS Lanarkshire is taking the opportunity to recognise the hard work and dedication of estates, domestic and facilities colleagues who help maintain safe, clean and welcoming environments for patients, visitors and staff every day.

Mary Anne Kane, General Manager for Property and Support Services, added: “Achieving and maintaining these standards takes teamwork, dedication and an enormous amount of effort from colleagues across all of our sites.

“Our domestic and estates teams play a vital role in supporting high-quality patient care and creating environments that are clean, safe and welcoming.

“National Healthcare Estates and Facilities Day is a great opportunity to celebrate the outstanding contribution these teams make every single day.”
