Working in Ward 6, Rebecca is known as a nurse who always puts patients at the centre of everything she does. She brings outstanding clinical knowledge and highly developed skills within the stroke specialty, combined with clear, compassionate and confident communication with both patients and their families at what can be an extremely worrying time.
Rebecca has excellent insight into the needs of people who have experienced a stroke, as well as the needs of their relatives. She understands how frightening and overwhelming these situations can be, and she takes the time to explain, reassure and support — helping people feel informed, involved and cared for throughout their journey.
A key strength of Rebecca’s practice is her ability to act quickly and decisively. She reacts swiftly to patients who may have experienced a stroke, reviewing individuals promptly in the Emergency Department or across wards, and ensuring they receive the right assessment and care without delay. This timely, high-quality response plays a vital role in improving outcomes for patients.
Rebecca is also an important and highly valued member of her wider team. She is always available to offer advice, guidance and support to colleagues, and she is recognised as a natural leader who others trust and turn to. Her approach strengthens teamwork across services and helps ensure consistent, high standards of stroke care.
Often affectionately described as the team’s very own ‘Dora the Explorer’, Rebecca is known for her determination to seek out patients, find answers and make sure no one is missed — going the extra mile to deliver safe, effective care.
