The number of people being admitted to hospital due to flu is already higher than previous years, and cases are rising every week. Flu spreads easily when people mix indoors at family gatherings, parties, and festive events. With Christmas just around the corner, now is the time to act.
To support increased demand and make vaccination more accessible to staff and the public, we are offering extra drop-in clinics across Lanarkshire.
Vaccination centres are operating seven days a week, providing flexible opportunities for those eligible to receive the flu vaccine.
Staff are also still able to contact their local occupational therapy department to arrange a convenient time to attend for the vaccine or drop in to their local occupational therapy department. The flu vaccine remains the most effective protection against flu this winter.
If your area has a number of staff, wishing to be vaccinated occupational health staff can arrange a site visit at a suitable time. Please contact the Senior OH Adviser based within the acute hospitals

Everyone invited for the flu vaccine is strongly encouraged to attend one of the clinics and take up the offer of protection this winter.
