NHS Lanarkshire Information

NHS Lanarkshire’s sustainability team continue to make great progress in relation to the Sustainability & Climate Change Agenda. A real drive to improve data quality and quantity is on-going, with the aim to set meaningful sustainability targets in line with Scottish Government net zero targets.

Craig Brown, Head of Sustainability and Environmental Performance, NHS Lanarkshire said: “Environmental Sustainability is extremely high on NHS Lanarkshire’s agenda, and the sustainability team are driving this change working with our partners in PSSD and others throughout the organisation. As an anchor organisation, we endeavour to do our part in making Lanarkshire as a whole a more sustainable and green place to live and work. We have the opportunity to continue improving the health of residents and staff across Lanarkshire by educating and encouraging people to make greener choices where possible. We must be a net zero carbon NHS by 2040, and as the 5th biggest NHS board in Scotland we have a key role to play in achieving these targets. Everyone can do their bit, every small decision and action can have a positive impact – something as simple as turning a light off can mount up over days, weeks, months in to something of real importance.”
