Why it is important to keep clean?

You will feel better.
Keeps your skin healthy.

You don’t smell bad.

Reduces the risk of catching an infection.
Can make you ill.

You will need

Soap.
Water.

Towel.

Shampoo.

Deodorant.
How often should you wash?

Wash yourself every day.
At the Sink.

Or a Shower.

Or a Bath.
You need to wash all your body

- Your hands and under your fingernails
- Your feet and between your toes
- Under your arms
- Between your legs and your bottom

After you have washed and dried yourself.

Put some deodorant under both arms.

Put on clean clothes.
You will look and feel better.
Washing your hair

Washing your hair keeps it clean and helps stop the skin on your head become itchy.

Everybody’s hair is different.

Some people need to wash their hair every day.

Some only 2 or 3 times a week.

Wash the shampoo out of your hair with water.

Then dry your hair with a towel or a hairdryer.

Comb or brush your hair.

It is best to shave in your bathroom.
You need a Mirror.

Razor and Shaving Foam.
Change the blades once per week.

Towel.

Sink with water.
How to Wet Shave

Put the plug in the sink with some warm water.

Stand in front of a mirror in your bathroom.

Put some shaving foam in your hand then rub on your face.

Shave carefully “go with the grain”.

Rinse your razor in the water.
This stops it getting clogged with hair.

Touch your face and check if you have missed any hair.

Wipe your face with a clean towel, when finished shaving.

Put some after-shave or moisturiser on your face if you like.
How to Dry Shave

Stand in front of a mirror.

Electric Razor (check it is charged).

Shave carefully going “with the grain”.

Touch your face and check if you have missed any hair.

Wipe your face with a clean towel, when finished shaving.

Put some after-shave or moisturiser on if you like.
Beard or Moustache

Keep it clean, by washing with soap and water every day. Dry with a clean towel.

Trim it regularly to keep it neat and tidy.
Keeping your teeth clean

Brushing your teeth keeps your teeth and gums clean and healthy.

Teeth are needed so you can eat different foods.

Speaking is easier to understand.

Brush your teeth twice a day, in the morning when you get up and before going to bed at night.
How to brush your teeth

You need a tooth brush and toothpaste.

Water and a sink.

Put a small amount of toothpaste onto your toothbrush.

Brush all your teeth.

Spit out the toothpaste into the sink.

Wipe your mouth with a towel.

Rinse your toothbrush under running water.

Put the lid on your toothpaste.
How to clean your dentures

It’s important to keep dentures or a dental clean.

You need water and a sink.

Denture paste and a toothbrush.

Do not use regular toothpaste as it scratches the denture.

Put a small amount of denture past on the toothbrush.

Rinse the denture in running water.

Brush the denture.

Then rinse the denture in running water.

You can also soak your dentures over-night.

You need denture cleaning tablets.
Warm water.
Container or glass.

Put warm water in the glass, then add the tablet and dentures.

In the morning, take the dentures out of the glass or container.

Rinse under running water.

Empty the container into the sink and wash with soap and water
Going to the toilet

It is important that you wash your hands after going to the toilet.

Washing your hands with soap and water, washes away any germs.

Germs can make you ill.
How to wash your hands

Wet your hands with water.

Rub some soap or handwash in your hands until you make bubbles.
Count to about 15 while you do this.

Rub inside fingers.

Wash the soap off your hands with warm water.

Dry your hands with a clean dry towel.
