The Safehaven team at Kirklands Headquarters are celebrating their win following the fifth staff awards ceremony – which was held virtually – where they picked up the award for outstanding team in a non-clinical role.
Even though the team may be very small, this has not stopped them achieve such great outcomes. They are responsible for commissioning highly specialised out-of-area care for residents of Lanarkshire.
Bridie McSeveny from the team said, “It was an honour to just be nominated and we are absolutely delighted to have been awarded winners of the outstanding team, non-clinical group as there were so many deserving teams nominated.”
The team work hard co-ordinating patient referrals, funding and extremely complicated transfers all over the UK and overseas, to make sure that our patients gain access to the highly specialised treatment that they need, while ensuring that their patient journey is as smooth as possible.
Yvonne Allan said: “Myself and my team have worked on a wide range of highly sensitive clinical cases such as gender reassignment. We work together to make sure that our patients receive the best care and support from the start of their journey, right through to surgery and treatment. Our top priority is always the patient and making sure that they feel comfortable and supported is paramount. I’d like to thank everyone once again, we are extremely proud of this award.”
The team have also contributed £3million worth of savings for the out-of-area services over the past three-year period through their attention to detail and work ethic.
Graham Johnston, head of planning and development, said: “The team have worked incredibly hard and I’d like to thank them for such great work.”
