Pupils studying a Foundation Apprenticeship as part of their S5/S6 subject choices at South Lanarkshire College teamed up with our communications team to consider a brief about the signposting of health care services during the winter period.
A Foundation Apprenticeship is the equivalent of a Scottish Higher and involves pupils going to college and work placements during their school time. In NHS Lanarkshire we offer placements to Foundation Apprentices within business skills, health and social services, engineering and creative and digital media.
As part of the Creative and Digital Media Foundation Apprenticeship, a team of students worked on a brief about how to promoting content to appeal to our core audiences to help them navigate our healthcare services.
As a result, the team constructively created an infographic (as shown) and also a short video to explain what patients should consider when trying to access healthcare services. There was also ideas and feedback on enhancing the way we communicate to our patients.

“I was particularly impressed by the strong teamwork, ability to grasp the complex communication challenges and present their solutions in an effective way.”
