In today’s busy and often challenging working environment, taking time to focus on your own health and wellbeing can easily fall down the list of priorities. National Wellbeing Week offers an opportunity for staff across NHS Lanarkshire to pause, reflect and access support that can make a real difference day to day.
Running from 22–26 June, the week brings together a range of activities and resources designed to support different aspects of wellbeing, from mental health and financial resilience to building supportive and inclusive workplace cultures.
Whether it’s attending a short session, exploring practical advice or simply taking time to learn something new, the focus is on helping colleagues find approaches that work for them. Many of the sessions are designed to be flexible and accessible, offering both in‑person opportunities and online resources that can be accessed at any time.
Lesley Mackay, Staff Health & Wellbeing, said: “Wellbeing looks different for everyone, and we recognise that staff are balancing a wide range of pressures both in work and at home. National Wellbeing Week is about creating the space for people to take a step back and think about what might support them, even in small ways.
“The programme offers a mix of activities and resources so that colleagues can engage in a way that feels realistic and achievable. Whether it’s learning something new, accessing practical support or just taking a moment to reflect, these small steps can have a positive impact over time.
“It’s also about encouraging a culture where we look out for one another and feel able to prioritise wellbeing as part of everyday working life.”
The full programme of events, including local sessions and national resources, will be available on the Staff Support and Wellbeing webpage.
Staff are encouraged to explore what’s available and consider how they can get involved in a way that works for them.
