The Learning & Organisational Development Team are continuing to deliver values sessions with teams across NHS Lanarkshire, giving colleagues the opportunity to explore what our organisational values mean for them and their team: celebrating what is already working well, how the values apply in day-to-day work and explore what (if anything) they want to do differently.
Early feedback from staff taking part has been positive, with the sessions described as engaging, interactive and thought-provoking.
One participant said the session provided a “good opportunity for staff to share ideas and consider others’ points”, while another said it had allowed their leadership team to “really think about our values and what is important to us”.
Other feedback included:
“The discussions generated were focused and relevant and set challenges to all those present.”
“Very helpful and much appreciated.”
“Really enjoyed it and it was great to take time out to discuss.”
The early feedback reflects the positive impact the sessions are already having, with colleagues valuing the opportunity to pause, reflect and have meaningful conversations.
Siobhan McRorie, Learning and Organisational Development Manager, said: “Our values sessions are about creating space for colleagues to talk openly about what the values look and feel like in practice.
“The feedback so far has been really encouraging, with staff valuing the opportunity to share ideas, learn from one another and consider how they can apply the values within their own teams and roles.
“These conversations are an important part of bringing our values to life and making sure they are reflected in the everyday experiences of our staff, patients and communities.
