Frontline and essential roles across health, social care, education, emergency and community services can be hugely rewarding—but they can also expose staff to stressful and distressing situations.
To better support the wellbeing and resilience of those working in these roles, NHS Lanarkshire is collaborating with the University of Strathclyde on a pioneering research project called Sentinel.
The study, ‘Testing a Trauma Support App for NHS Staff’, invites colleagues from any professional role within the health and social care family—not only clinical or patient-facing staff—to help test a new wellbeing app designed to support people who may experience trauma exposure through their work.
The study involves:
- Completing a short initial survey
- Using the Sentinel app over a six-week period
- Completing a final follow-up survey
- (Optional) taking part in a brief interview to reflect on your experience
The study is open until 26 February 2026, with the possibility of extension depending on uptake.
