Supporting your health and wellbeing has never been more important, and a series of free Stress Control classes are now available across Lanarkshire to help staff manage the everyday pressures of modern life.
These sessions are designed to provide practical, easy-to-use techniques for dealing with stress, anxiety, low mood, sleep difficulties and other common challenges. The course runs over six weekly 90-minute sessions and covers a range of topics including understanding stress, managing behaviours, regulating your body, improving sleep and building long-term wellbeing.
The sessions are open to anyone aged 16 and over who lives or works in Lanarkshire, and there is no referral required. You can simply attend, listen and take away helpful tools and strategies at your own pace in a supportive environment, without any expectation to share personal experiences.
Lesley Mackay, Staff Health & Wellbeing, said: “We know that many of our staff are juggling a range of pressures both at work and in their personal lives, and it’s important that we provide accessible support that helps people feel more in control. The Stress Control classes are designed to give practical, evidence-based techniques that staff can apply in everyday situations, whether that’s managing stress, improving sleep or building resilience over time.
“What’s really valuable about these sessions is that they are open to everyone and there’s no pressure to talk or share—people can simply come along, listen and take away what’s helpful for them. It’s about giving staff the tools and confidence to look after their own wellbeing in a way that works for them.”
Courses are running throughout July and August at locations including Fernhill Community Centre in Rutherglen and Chryston Community Hub, with additional dates planned across Lanarkshire.
