Survey on antibiotic use and resistance

Mar 12, 2024

M3 and Basis Research, on behalf of The UK Health Security Agency, is inviting patient-facing healthcare professionals to complete a short survey about their knowledge and attitudes on antibiotics, infection prevention and antibiotic resistance.

The survey is seeking responses from healthcare workers including doctors, nurses, pharmacists and dentists as well as nursing assistants and dental/pharmacy technicians.

Dr Stephanie Dundas, infectious disease consultant, NHS Lanarkshire AMT chair, said: “It’s important for frontline staff such as doctors, nurses and allied healthcare professionals to complete this survey so we can better understand current healthcare professionals’ knowledge, perceptions and challenges in delivering antimicrobial care. This means we will be better placed to meet staff needs in terms of future antimicrobial policy, education and resource materials to support better antimicrobial prescribing decisions and patient outcomes”.

On completion of the survey, a certificate of participation can be requested – this will not be linked to your responses.

The objectives of the study are to:

  • repeat the healthcare workers survey conducted in 2019 across 30 European countries;
  • gain a better understanding of healthcare professionals’ knowledge and perceptions to provide a base to support future needs in terms of policy and education changes, and;
  • fill in gaps in the evaluation of communication campaigns and resources for healthcare professionals.

To participate in the survey, visit: https://m3.decipherinc.com/survey/selfserve/1f59/r69013?list=2&smp=1#?

The survey will close on Friday 15 March.

Please note this is not an NHS Lanarkshire survey and participants completing this do so at their own risk.
