In the midst of busy workdays and ongoing challenges, it’s important to make space for our own wellbeing.
NHS Lanarkshire is inviting all staff to take that moment by joining our series of virtual wellbeing workshops.
These sessions are designed to support your mental health, build resilience and offer practical ways to manage stress — especially as we mark Stress Awareness Month.
Lesley Mackay, Staff Health and Wellbeing Project Manager, said: “These online workshops will help you explore common causes of stress, how to recognise early signs in yourself and your team, and techniques to manage it more effectively. You’ll also hear about the resources available within NHS Lanarkshire to support your mental health and wellbeing.
“We know that many of our staff are balancing high workloads, personal responsibilities and emotional pressures. These sessions offer a safe and supportive space to take a breath and focus on yourself, even if only for an hour. You don’t need to be struggling to benefit — sometimes just understanding how stress works and hearing that others feel the same can be incredibly powerful. We’re committed to supporting our staff not only professionally, but personally too, and these workshops are among the many resources available to help maintain good mental health.”
The first upcoming session, Stress Risk Assessment, will take place on Friday 25 April from 10am to 11am via Microsoft Teams. This SHWB session is delivered by the SALUS Occupational Health team and is designed to support managers and team leads in recognising signs of stress within their teams. It will provide advice on how to conduct a Stress Risk Assessment and promote positive outcomes.
The second session, Stress Awareness Workshop, will take place on Monday 28 April from 12pm to 1pm, also via Microsoft Teams. Delivered by The Talking Rooms, this workshop recognises the pressures faced by healthcare professionals and offers practical cognitive behavioural therapy-based strategies and mindfulness techniques to manage stress, build resilience and support overall wellbeing in the workplace.
There’s no need to book — just join the sessions using the Teams links above.
They’re open to all staff and are a great opportunity to pause, reflect and pick up some useful tools that you can use both at work and at home.
