NHS Lanarkshire will run the second Staff Culture Survey from 3-23 November to assess the culture within the organisation. The first organisation-wide Culture survey – which ran in November 2023 – measured how much staff agreed that NHS Lanarkshire demonstrates the nine dimensions known to have a positive impact on workplace culture: Values, Vision, Goals & Performance, Quality & Innovation, Team Working, Compassionate Care, Compassionate Leadership, Collective Leadership and Equality & Diversity.
You can find the results of the 2023 survey here: Culture Survey Report
The survey is based on extensive research and provides valuable insight into how staff view the culture within NHS Lanarkshire. The results will help to assess if our culture has changed since the last survey, and provide further insight into how we continue to develop a culture that ensures delivery of high quality, person-centred and compassionate care for the people of Lanarkshire. It will also help promote wellbeing and development of staff.
The 2023 survey provided a benchmark of our organisational culture at that time. Since then, various initiatives have taken place to support improvement in our culture (see Culture Survey Actions for more information). A Team Culture Toolkit was developed in 2024. The toolkit provides resources to help NHSL staff and teams understand more about the 9 culture dimensions and includes activities to try within teams as well as things to read and watch that can support development.
Individual responses will not be identifiable. NHS Lanarkshire will receive a summary report and individual views will not be known to the organisation.
Most staff will receive an email from AOD to their NHS Lanarkshire email address. This will contain a URL link to the survey.
If you are an NHS Lanarkshire member of staff and do not receive an email, the survey can be accessed through a unique QR code. The QR code will be included in posters displayed throughout NHS Lanarkshire.
Staff without access to IT equipment can complete the survey in any of NHS Lanarkshire’s libraries which are based in the three acute hospitals. Computers are available at all sites and staff can provide support with logging on. Libraries are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and will open on Monday 3 November until Sunday 23 November.
