It’s been six months since our COVID-19 vaccination programme for staff started on 8 December 2020 and the programme has recently completed second doses.
The programme was not only open to patient-facing health and social care staff, but also included care at home staff, education additional support needs staff, residential care for children staff and students on placement.
This meant that during the course of the programme 36,164 people were referred to Salus to receive their vaccination at one of the 14 clinics across Lanarkshire.
Kay Japp, principal occupational health advisor, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved in the staff vaccination programme.
“It took staff from across the organisation to bring this programme together to vaccinate so many people. It included not only Salus staff, but also bank staff, pharmacy, procurement, transport and porters to name but a few.
“It means that our patient-facing staff now have longer-lasting protection against COVID-19 and can continue to provide first-class care for all those in our communities.”

The system provides appointments at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell and the Alistair McCoist Complex in East Kilbride. This is available until Friday 11 June – after this you should contact NHS Scotland if you think you should have received an invitation to your coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination appointment by now. You can do this by calling 0800 030 8013 or by completing an online form.

If you’ve already received your vaccinations and need proof, the Scottish Government has launched a covid-19 vaccination status scheme, where you can access your vaccination status.
If you were vaccinated through the Salus staff vaccination programme, you can access your record at www.nhsinform.scot/covid19status by using the ‘recover username’ link. You will also need to know the date of your first vaccination.
