There has been a significant rise in laboratory-confirmed cases of Pertussis (whooping cough) across Scotland. This trend is consistent with increasing cases throughout the UK and Europe.
Why This Matters:Â The immunisation of healthcare workers who regularly interact with pregnant women, young infants, and other vulnerable groups is crucial. These patients are at higher risk of severe or complicated infections from Pertussis.
