NHS Lanarkshire’s new corporate induction programme

Apr 12, 2022

The way NHS Lanarkshire delivers its corporate induction programme is changing. As of April, the half-day programme will be delivered via Microsoft Teams on a three-weekly basis.

The new refreshed programme will be interactive and contain a celebration of the organisation’s culture and values, as well as discussing important topics such as staff wellbeing, opportunities for learning and development and NHS Lanarkshire’s vision for the future. The programme will be inspirational for staff and will support them to connect with the organisational purpose. Compulsory and mandatory training will continue to be undertaken at a local level and should be discussed at local induction.

Siobhan McRorie, senior learning and organisational development advisor, said: “The learning and organisational development department is excited to launch our new, virtual corporate induction programme with effect from 28 April. The programme will contain refreshed content covering interesting and engaging topics including values, our vision for the future and learning and development opportunities.

“The information on the programme will supplement your local induction which will usually be carried out by your line manager, covering role specific information such as health and safety, fire arrangements and mandatory training”.

New starts will arrange a date to attend the programme with NHS Lanarkshire’s recruitment department. The process will be facilitated and co-ordinated through the learning and organisational development team.

Managers are asked to ensure that new starts have access to a PC or laptop to attend the session. PCs are available from the libraries at each of the acute hospital sites, the IT resource room at Law House and also at hot-desking stations on community sites. In addition to this, iPads can be rented from the library service. If possible, it is recommended that a quiet area for new staff members be located to attend the programme or, if this is not possible, for a set of headphones to be made available.
