Following a Lanarkshire-wide review, the number of interventions offered at Treatment Rooms has been increased and patients can now access the same services across all Treatment Rooms.
Treatment Room staff provide a wide range of clinical interventions, so patients can attend a Treatment Room instead of their GP.
Patients can now refer themselves directly to Treatment Rooms, staff just need to give them the contact details of their local Treatment Room to make an appointment. If patients are unable to refer themselves, staff discharging patients from hospital must now refer them directly to treatment rooms, instead of their GP.
Blood tests should be requested using Acute Ordercomms, as it is now live in all Treatment Rooms.
Dr Veronica Rainey, Associate Medical Director, South Lanarkshire University Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “This new process will ensure effective delivery and consistency for patients across Lanarkshire. I would like to thank staff for their co-operation and support while implementing this new way of working.”
Details of the referral process, Treatment Room contact details and supporting documents are all available on the Treatment Room Services Firstport page.
