The Local Quit Your Way Helpline Number, used mainly by referrers for referrals and enquiries, has changed.
The new number is 01698 754 888 and has replaced the previous number (07813 569 289).
01698 754 888 can be called from today (Tuesday 24 October) where the team are available to health professionals for:
- Referring patients.
- Advice for clients motivated to stop smoking.
- Advice on Nicotine Replacement Therapy products.
The helpline will continue to remain open Monday – Friday. Referrals and enquiries can be left on voicemail too if no one is available and will be followed up as soon as possible.
The Quit Your Way team has created new posters and other material to promote the new number which the team can send to your department in internal mail. If you would like these for your department, please email Rachel Stewart, Senior Communications Officer, Quit Your Way: Rachel.stewart@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk.
Jacqueline MacDonald, Team Lead – Quit Your Way, NHS Lanarkshire said: “We have upgraded our telephone system to be able to manage our local helpline in the most effective way possible.
“Our clerical staff are on hand to answer all your enquiries and take on any patient referrals within various departments across Primary and Secondary Care in NHS Lanarkshire.
“For acute staff who use the MNAAT to refer patients, this is available to order from PECOS using code LAT538.
“Staff can also access our health professional referral form to refer patients too.”
For the first month of the new number going live, callers to the mobile number will be diverted automatically to the new 01698 number. After one month (end of November) the mobile number will no longer automatically divert, and instead callers will hear a message to let them know to redial the new 01698 number with a reminder of the number.
