Staff swapped the operating theatre for the kitchen to bake goodies to give their charity fundraising challenge a sweet start.
The colleagues from theatres at University Hospital Hairmyres raised over £1,000 to launch their plans to raise money by doing the Macmillan Cancer Care Mighty Hike this summer.
Theatre Nurse Amanda Narsapur said: “Our afternoon bake sale and tea was a huge success. We have a very talented group of bakers within the department who provided lots of lovely goodies for us to sell.
“We were also lucky enough to receive lots of donations that we raffled to add to the fund. We raised £1011.88, which will go towards our overall fundraising target of £2,000.
“We’ll be walking the 25-mile Rob Roy Mighty Hike in the Trossachs National Park on 30 August.”
