It’s a warm welcome to NHS Lanarkshire’s new Chief Executive, Louise Long.
Louise joined us today from Inverclyde Council, where she was chief executive for nearly four years.
She’ll be visiting various sites and services this week – check back in to The Pulse at the end of this week for a round-up of those and a message from Louise .
Louise has worked for 30 years in the public sector, 25 in a senior position, holding roles within education, social work and health and social care. She was made a Member of the British Empire (MBE) for Services to Local Government and the community of Inverclyde in the King’s New Year’s Honours List in December 2023.
Prior to starting as Chief Executive of Inverclyde Council in September 2021, Louise was Chief Officer for Inverclyde Integration Joint Board (IJB) and Corporate Director of Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) at Inverclyde Council from May 2017.
Previously, she was Head of Children and Families and Justice and Chief Social Work Officer at Argyll and Bute Council from 2015, starting at that council in 2012 as Head of Children’s Services.
Thanks go to Colin Lauder, who has returned to his roles as NHS Lanarkshire Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Planning, Property and Performance, following his term as Interim Chief Executive.
