In the latest edition of the Sustainability Newsletter, there is an update on work that has been progressed within sustainability over the past six months, with highlights being the successful roll-out of the staff-wide travel survey which had over 1,300 responses.
A new position within greenspace and biodiversity having been filled; good news stories from staff and colleagues on how they are making sustainable improvements to their way of working and workplace and an update on the renewable energy to be installed across NHS Lanarkshire over 2024.
Craig Brown, head of sustainability and environmental performance, said: “There has been a lot happening behind the scenes within the sustainability and environment team since our last update. There has been a big focus on reviewing the greenspace and biodiversity data we do have and working on ways to improve this with Stuart coming on board.
“We have also been working on developing the programme of works linked with the Green Public Sector Estate Decarbonisation Scheme and have conducted energy and sustainability audits on another section of the NHS Lanarkshire portfolio. We had a fantastic response from our travel survey, so a big thank you to all of the people who took the time to respond to this. The information we gathered will help with future plans for improving travel and transport.”
