There was a double triumph for NHS Lanarkshire at Scotland’s showpiece awards for human resources professionals.
Jonathan Pender scooped HR Specialist of the Year award and our Organisational Development (OD) team were finalists in the Organisational Development Award of the Year.
The Hr NETWORK National Awards 2024 were announced on 14 November 2024. These annual awards recognise, acknowledge and reward the champions of the Scottish HR profession, with winners across 18 different categories.
Jacqui Jones, NHS Lanarkshire HR Director and Deputy Chief Executive – Corporate, Culture and Objectives, said: “Huge congratulations to Jonathan for his win which is a great achievement and to our OD colleagues for making the shortlist of finalists which is also a significant achievement.”
Jacqui, who nominated her colleagues, added: “The awards are highly prized in the HR community in Scotland, with entries being judged by an independent panel of HR experts from the business world.
“The competition was intense as submissions came from high-profile organisations across Scotland including Aegon, Ascensos, Edinburgh University, Gleneagles, Highland Spring, Historic Environment Scotland, Mintra, Modus, Morgan Stanley, Robertson, Simul8, Skyscanner, Strathclyde University and SSE.
“I’m beyond delighted that Jonathan took the award, which is very well deserved. Head of OD Kirsty Cole and her colleagues just lost out to Skyscanner but I think you will all agree with me that they’re winners anyway for the amazing work they do in NHS Lanarkshire.”
Jonathan said: “My sincere thanks to Jacqui for nominating me for the award. It’s an incredible honour to win. I could not have achieved this, however, without the outstanding team behind me – and I give my thanks to them for their unwavering support.”
