NHS Lanarkshire will launch a new set of organisational values this autumn, aligning us fully with the national NHS Scotland values.
The new values will give every member of staff a clear compass for the way we work together and care for the people we serve.
Following engagement with colleagues across services and staff groups, we will move to the four NHS Scotland values: Care & Compassion, Dignity and Respect, Openness, Honesty and Responsibility, Quality and Teamwork.
These shared values have been tested with a wide range of staff groups to check that the wording is meaningful and relevant to day‑to‑day practice.
Kirsty Cole, Head of Organisational Development, said: “Introducing clear and meaningful values isn’t just about setting guidelines, it’s about shaping our culture where care and compassion are at the forefront of all our interactions with patients, carers and staff.
“We will launch the new values in August, however this is just the beginning – the real difference will come from how we live these values every day. The Learning and OD team will be contacting teams across the organisation to discuss how the values relate specifically to their teams. Our values are an important feature of how our day to day interactions improve engagement, team performance, innovation and ensure that staff feel safe to speak up.
