Are you passionate about personal development? Are you considering studying for a qualification or accreditation?
NHS Lanarkshire staff can apply for funding support through its further and higher education (F/HE) process. Application forms are available on FirstPort for study beginning in academic year 2023/2024. Development must be identified within the personal development performance and review (PDP/R) process and applications must be supported by a line manager and head of service.
Chrissy Rooney, senior learning and organisational development advisor, said: “I’m delighted to launch the new funding for further/higher education policy which replaces the information previously held in the learning, education and training policy. The focus going forward is on PDPs and personal development and I’m encouraging applications from staff in this respect. Myself and my colleagues look forward to seeing everyone at our information sessions.”
There are eight information sessions planned, bookable through the learnPro course booking system at https://nhs.learnprouk.com/. Participants must attend one of the one-hour information sessions to enable their application to progress.
The introduction of the new policy:
- firmly places personal development as the focus for funding;
- dovetails into and meets the expectations of the draft 2023–2028 Learning Strategy;
- offers additional flexible repayment options.
The deadline for completed applications is Wednesday 31 May. Late applications will not be accepted. Applications will be considered by the funding support group and successful applicants will be offered 50 per cent funding towards their course fees.
For any enquiries, please email furthered@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk
Those who are currently being funded will see no change to their funding arrangements but are encouraged to attend the information sessions to learn more about the new process.
