Face-to-face stop smoking support comes to Lanarkshire

Lanarkshire residents looking for extra support to quit smoking can now book to stop by the Quit Your Way team’s new one-to-one, in person sessions.

Those who attend can expect advice, information and free Nicotine Replacement Therapy to support them throughout their quit.

The team will answer any questions and provide information for those considering stopping or are ready to stop smoking.

The service supports anyone in Lanarkshire including specialist support for pregnant women and those living mental health issues. There are a variety of support options available, even for those who have tried to quit smoking before with or without the service.

Liz Dickson, Adviser – Quit Your Way, NHS Lanarkshire, said: “We know how challenging it can be to stop smoking, but people don’t have to do it alone.

“The sessions offer a welcoming space on a one-to-one basis where you can get practical advice and free Nicotine Replacement Therapy to support your quit journey.

“I’m looking forward to meeting the local residents and being able to support them face-to-face to tackle their addiction.”

Michelle Watson, Health Improvement Practitioner, Coatbridge – NHS Lanarkshire, added: “We’re delighted to bring this new offering of the service to the community.

“The Health Improvement team strives to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities by creating healthier opportunities, so we’re thrilled to launch this offering in Coatbridge and Lanarkshire wide.

“Whether you’re thinking about quitting or have already started, Quit Your Way is here to support you every step of the way with friendly, confidential help tailored to your needs.”
