A welcome induction event was held at the Art Centre, Airdrie on Tuesday 29 May for cohort 6 and 7 of NHS Lanarkshire’s district nurse training pathway.
Trainee district nurses from across North and South Health and Social Care Partnerships attended. The event was organised by Pauline Schoneville, practice development practitioner together with the pathway`s practice assessors and professional leads.
Margot Russell, director of practice development, Amanda Minns, head of evidence and Gary Downie, senior charge nurse, inspired trainees with excellent interactive learning sessions.
Previous trainees who have completed the pathway , Karen Docherty and Shirley Thomson came along to speak to the audience about their “lived experience” giving valuable insight regarding learning opportunities.
Feedback about the event was hugely positive and trainees reported that: “The setting was excellent, food amazing and all the practice assessors and professional lead were very friendly and welcoming speakers were also very interesting & beneficial.”
