Cumbernauld District Nursing Team

The afternoon of team building and growth was a great success for the Cumbernauld District Nursing Teams as they developed and enhanced critical skills.

The game, which was played in the afternoon at Foot Golf Palicerigg, involved players kicking a football into a cup as quickly as they could.

Audrey McFaulds, District Nurse Team Leader, Team 1 Central and Kilsyth North Locality said:

“We are so grateful that Evelyn Ryan, our service manager, gave us this chance. Thanks to Nigel from Foot Golf Palicerigg, the Cumbernauld District Nursing Teams had an excellent time during their day of team building activities.

“Even with the weather changing from snow to rain on the development day morning, we had an incredible experience!”

Audrey added: “This activity promoted teamwork, communication, and friendship. It strengthened our mental resilience, focus, and ability to think strategically. We all had an excellent time despite the weather, and all the cobwebs were blown away.

“After walking miles and playing foot golf, we had lunch and laughed and talked about how much fun we had. A few team members received awards, Joanne received one in particular for gymnastics since she performed multiple backflips in the mud, turning into a muddy snowman by the end.

“The Cumbernauld District Nursing teams have a great sense of unity, they showed outstanding communication, teamwork, and camaraderie. It was pleasant to hear everyone laughing, and it was evident that everyone was at ease. What a team—heightened focus, tenacity, camaraderie, and physical and mental toughness! As a team leader, I’m really proud.”

Team members also praised the team development day:

“Overall, it was enjoyable. I would definitely recommend dressing for all weather conditions, and I’m glad I brought my wellies.”

“Such good fun for everyone involved.”

“This day was a great laugh.”

“I’m a new team member, so it was especially fun to get to know everyone while we were getting to know one another.”
