Staff who missed our popular sleep workshop last autumn can now catch up online, with expert insight into why good sleep is so vital for our health, wellbeing and day-to-day functioning.
The session, delivered in October 2024, was led by Professor Colin Espie, a world-leading expert in sleep medicine and Honorary Consultant Clinical Psychologist in NHS Lanarkshire. The workshop explored the latest developments in sleep research and unpacked the powerful impact that sleep has on both physical and mental health.
Drawing on decades of clinical and research experience, Professor Espie explains why sleep is not a luxury, but a fundamental part of our health – influencing everything from mood, concentration and decision-making to long-term wellbeing. The session also challenges some common myths around sleep and highlights practical, evidence-based principles that can help people improve their sleep quality.
The recording is now available on Pulse and is a useful resource for anyone wanting to better understand sleep, whether for personal wellbeing, supporting others, or simply making sense of why sleep can sometimes feel so hard to come by.
