Career Development Programme kicks off on Wed 17 Aug

Aug 11, 2022

4 way signpost pointing to success, growth, career and development

NHS Lanarkshire’s multi-faceted Career Development Programme begins on Wednesday 17 August and is now bookable to all staff, clinical and non-clinical, via Learn Pro.

The Programme is made up of three elements aiming to meet the needs of our dynamic and diverse workforce; Workshops, Empower Hours and Career Coaching.

The first 2.5 hour workshop takes place on Wednesday 17 August, exploring the role of job satisfaction, work-life balance, ability, making a difference, talent, passion, money and achievement in career development. The workshops run monthly until June 2023 (except September), and staff who attend a workshop will be able to apply for two Career Coaching sessions from October.

Bi-monthly Empower Hours begin in September, lasting one hour and covering four areas; Creating Your Best Application Form, Interview Skills, The Power of LinkedIn (creating and updating your profile) and Your Personal Brand.

Our Corporate Management Team fully support the Programme and encourage every member of staff in their continuing career development. Calvin Brown, Director of Communications, said:

“NHS Lanarkshire is full of the leaders and experts of the future. Working with us offers so many amazing opportunities to grow professionally and develop your career to fulfil that potential.

“The new Career Development Programme can help our staff get the most out of these opportunities to help achieve their goals. That’s true whether they are just taking the first steps of a long and rewarding journey with NHS Lanarkshire, or if they have been with us longer and have recently started thinking about developing their career.”

Staff can access all, some or one part of the Career Development Programme via Learn Pro. Sessions take place on Teams at a variety of times and dates so that staff can participate flexibly when it suits them best.
