Autumn and winter vaccination programme

Dec 6, 2023

The festive period is drawing closer and if you are a frontline health or social care worker, you are eligible for the flu and Covid-19 vaccines.

As well as topping up your own protection, you will be protecting patients and your loved ones over the festive period when families come together.

We understand that everyone has busy lives but we are making it easy for everyone to get their vaccinations at a time that is convenient to them by offering drop in clinics at all our vaccination centres.

Please do not let your protection fade by thinking you do not need another vaccine for either flu or Covid.  It takes 10 days for the flu and Covid booster to give you Maxine protection so by getting it now you will be helping to protect others over the festive period.

Eddie Docherty, Executive Nurse Director, said:  “We are about to hit the busiest time of the year and winter always comes with a variety of viruses.

“I am asking staff who have not had their vaccinations yet to take the opportunity to do so by attending one of the drop in clinics the vaccination team have kindly arranged.  This will keep you, your family and your patients safe.”
