This week we launched our Public Health Information Lanarkshire (PHIL) web pages, the aim of which is to enable better evidence-based decision making to improve population health in Lanarkshire.
With an abundance of data available online, it can be hard to find useful, good quality data. To make this easier, NHS Lanarkshire’s public health department has created a new dedicated PHIL web page at https://www.nhslanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk/phil/
PHIL will contain information on a range of public health related issues such as transport, screening programmes, alcohol and drugs and community safety.
“Public Health Information Lanarkshire is the result of excellent efforts from staff in NHS Lanarkshire and our partner organisations and is a tool that was developed to put health intelligence at the centre of strategic decision making. We hope you find it useful for finding valuable insights to inform your work.”
Professor S Josephine Pravinkumar
Director of Public Health and Health Policy
PHIL will be of particular importance to anyone interested in learning more about public health related topics in Lanarkshire. The new web page has been designed with the intention to help inform decisions about service design and improvements, or as an aid to help completing an equality and diversity impact assessment.
PHIL will feature:
- links to trusted and relevant data sources;
- links to maps and reports;
- short briefs on key topics with data, details on the health impacts and, most importantly, what is happening around that topic in Lanarkshire.
We hope that PHIL is useful to you, if you would like to receive our update emails, please email us at lan.phil@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk
Or if you would like to tell us what you think of PHIL please fill in our questionnaire PHIL Evaluation Form – Fill in form.
