There has been a bumper crop of internal promotions in the acute division.
Dr Ken Dagg, Chief of Medical Services at University Hospital Wishaw, will become NHS Lanarkshire’s Acute Medical Director.
Mr Martin Downey is moving from the role of the Board’s Associate Medical Director for Access, Surgical and Critical Care, to take up Ken’s former post.
CJ Graham, currently Deputy Director of Hospital Services at University Hospital Hairmyres, is moving to University Hospital Monklands to become Interim Site Director.
And our new Acute Nurse Director is Sharon Murray, currently Associate Nurse Director for University Health and Social Care North Lanarkshire.
Ken said: “I’m very much looking forward to taking up my post. I will be very focused on supporting our clinical teams as we continue to transform within NHS Lanarkshire to ensure our patients receive the best possible care. I’m particularly excited about the new virtual wards and pathways we’re developing, and improving our assessment and ambulatory care pathways.”
Martin commented: “I’m relishing this new opportunity to work with my Wishaw colleagues. I’m aiming to bring the experience from my previous post to ally my knowledge of planned care with the challenges of unscheduled care. There are important initiatives I’m looking forward to getting involved in, including the virtual wards programme.”
CJ said: “I’m really looking forward to joining the team at Monklands. The upcoming winter season will no doubt have its challenges, and my focus will be on collaborating closely with colleagues to maintain the high standards of patient care that Monklands is known for. I’m genuinely excited to learn from the teams I will be joining and from this this experience as a whole.”
Sharon commented: “I’m very excited about my new role and the challenges it brings. This post allows me to continue to expand and diversify my NHS experience. I’ve worked in a range of strategic professional and operational leadership roles within acute and the North Partnership. This has allowed me to understand the opportunities and challenges across our whole system and the importance of developing effective multidisciplinary and multi-agency working relationships while supporting a healthy working environment for staff, to improve job satisfaction.”
