Staff from property and support services division’s (PSSD) West of Scotland Laundry, hotel services and maintenance services attended a special lunch to celebrate winning the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Gold Medal Awards. This marked the ninth consecutive year for the laundry and fifth for hotel services and maintenance services.
The award marks a very high level of performance, demonstrating well-developed occupational health and safety management systems and culture, outstanding control of risk and very low levels of error, harm and loss. To sustain the keeping of the award is an even higher achievement than obtaining it for the first time.
John Paterson, director of PSSD, said: “I am delighted that PSSD’s commitment to health and safety has been recognised by RoSPA yet again. Continuing to achieve this level of recognition is due to the hard work and commitment of our staff to ensuring a safe working environment.”
The West of Scotland Laundry, hotel services and maintenance services have now collectively won 23 awards since entering the accreditation process, all retaining celebrated gold status again this year.
The teams were presented with their awards by the prestigious Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents at a recent Occupational Health and Safety Awards ceremony held at the DoubleTree Hilton, Glasgow.
