NHS Lanarkshire’s Keep Well team won the award for outstanding team in a clinical role at the fifth Staff Awards ceremony which was held virtually over Microsoft Teams.

The team oversee delivering outreach healthcare checks and work primarily with marginalised communities who do not readily engage with mainstream services because of barriers due to lifestyle, disability or ethnicity.

Sandra Kelly from the team said: “We are very excited to accept this award and we were so thankful for the nomination.

“Our work can often be demanding and stressful at times and we are all grateful to work with such a great and supportive team.

“We all understand how hard the work can be, but we all share the same enthusiasm for the job and always come to work with a smile as it can go a long way.”

Keep Well is a unique and proactive service which works hard to make a difference and empower people who may experience inequalities. They work with different communities throughout Lanarkshire, providing services on a regular basis with amazing results and support for many different patients.

Heather Craig from Keep Well said: “Our team work so hard and I am very proud of my colleagues in winning this award.

“Our work consists of working with different communities and groups to make sure that all residents of Lanarkshire are cared for. We deliver clinics in a variety of settings including places of worship, carer support services, community justice venues and services to support the deaf community.

“We want to make sure that everyone has a voice, especially when they may feel like they can’t get the help that they need. My team have worked hard on helping all members of the community and this award proves this.”
