Freedom of Information

Making a request

All the information that NHS Lanarkshire regularly publishes is included in the publication scheme (link to publication scheme).

Before you make a request, remember that under Freedom of Information not all information will be released. Some information you request may be exempt from release.

These exemptions are listed in the Act and include:-

Health Records

To request your health records, please see our health records information page.

Personal information

Personal information such as –

  • Your own information
  • Information that identifies a person

Commercial information

Information that if released would prejudice a supplier or the health board such as –

  • The price negotiated for a particular product

Information that would cost too much to provide

If locating and providing information costs the health board more than £600 it does not have to response to the request.

For this reason if you can be specific in what you are looking for you are more likely to receive the information we have.

Not held

Sometimes we just don’t have what you are looking for.
We will let you know that and if we can give advice on where you may find the information.

Information already published

If information is already published we do not have to provide it to you. In our response to you we will tell you where you can find what you are looking for.

If some or all of the information you request is exempt this will be explained when we respond to your request.
