A Round of Applause for All Our AHP Colleagues on National AHP Day

Oct 14, 2025

Today we celebrate our allied health professionals (AHPs) and the work they do to support patients across Lanarkshire.

National AHP Day 2025 is a day to celebrate the contributions of Allied Health Professionals not only in Lanarkshire but across the country and globally.

The focus in Scotland is on the impact of AHPs, and to highlight the work of the AHP professions and their vital role in health and social care.

In Lanarkshire, the allied health professions (AHPs) consists of dietitians, occupational therapists, orthotists, physiotherapists, podiatrists, diagnostic radiographers, and speech and language therapists. However, in Lanarkshire, audiology and spiritual are also aligned to the Lanarkshire AHP cohort.

AHP day is an invitation to join allied healthcare professionals to celebrate AHPs Day (#AHPsDay & #AHPSDayScot).

Trudi Marshall, NHS Lanarkshire’s executive nurse director, said, “I have never been prouder of the NHS Lanarkshire AHP team for their commitment and dedication and today is a day to acknowledge what they bring to patients across health and social care in Lanarkshire. Working within our hospitals and communities they support children and adults to live their best life.

“Today will emphasize the significant role AHPs play in Scotland’s health and social care, with a particular focus on quality, safety, and the country’s Health and Social Care Service Renewal Framework.”
