From GPS pendants to voice assistants, the Blantyre LIFE Technology Enabled Care Team is proving that small tech can make a big difference — and now they’ve been named as one of this year’s NHS Lanarkshire Staff Awards finalists.
The team brings together health, social care and digital specialists to support people to live safely and independently in their own homes. Based at Blantyre LIFE, they deliver a suite of services including telecare alarms, video consultations and pioneering smart-home innovations — all grounded in compassion and dignity.
Their public-facing TEC Zone allows people to test equipment before making life-changing decisions, and they run drop-ins, skills sessions and community events to support digital inclusion. One service user’s daughter described their system as “a lifeline” after it helped her mum avoid hospital admissions and regain confidence following a fall.
The team’s work reflects NHS Lanarkshire’s values in action — combining innovation, teamwork and inclusion to transform lives every day.
