Colleagues recently bid a fond farewell and a massive thank you to Alastair (Ally) Boyle MBE, NHS Lanarkshire non-executive Board member and Board Vice-Chair.
Ally has taken up the role of Chair of Public Health Scotland after five years with NHS Lanarkshire, initially as a non-executive member and latterly as vice-chair. Ally also held the position of Chair of the Population Health Committee and was a voting member of the South Lanarkshire Integration Joint Board. He is also a non-executive director of NHS Education for Scotland.
Martin Hill, Chair of NHS Lanarkshire, said: “I’d like to acknowledge the significant contribution Ally has made over the last five years.
“Ally has been involved in protecting the public for all of his career and is passionate about early intervention and reducing inequalities. His background and experience – both personal and professional – will be a huge asset to Public Health Scotland.
“On behalf of the Board, and everyone in NHS Lanarkshire, I wish Ally the best of luck in his new role”.
Donald Reid, non-executive Board member, will now take up the post as Vice-Chair of Lanarkshire NHS Board.
