NHS Lanarkshire will launch a new set of organisational values this autumn, aligning fully with the national NHS Scotland framework.
The new values will give every member of staff a clear compass for the way we work together and care for the people we serve.
Following engagement with colleagues across services and staff groups, we will move to the four NHS Scotland values:
- Care and Compassion
- Dignity and Respect
- Openness, Honesty and Responsibility
- Quality and Teamwork
To support the values, NHS Lanarkshire’s Learning and Organisational Development (L&OD) Team have designed an accompanying set of behaviours unique to our organisation. These behaviours were developed using insights gathered from 700 staff members across NHS Lanarkshire, who shared what the new values personally mean to them.
The L&OD team are excited to begin working directly with teams in the coming months to embed the new values and behaviours into everyday practice, and to discover how we can all live them in practical, meaningful ways.
Our new values graphic is shown below. This design received the most votes from staff during the data gathering stage, and the L&OD team have continued to refine it to translate the values we live by into an image everyone can instantly recognise and be proud of.
Together, we have the power to bring the values and behaviours to life — each of us plays a vital role in making them part of everything we do, every day.
