Our Cumbernauld community nurses had an inspiring chat about their jobs with primary school children.
Team Leader Audrey McFaulds, Community Staff Nurse Brian Thompson and Modern Apprentice Sofia Nellie visited Dykehead Primary in Shotts for their Careers Day.
Audrey said: “During the event with P2 and P3 pupils we introduced our roles, explaining how we care for patients at home to prevent hospital admission and help people to recover outside of hospital.
“We also discussed the importance of wellbeing, focusing on both physical and mental health. We shared practical tips for maintaining good health and provided each class with a “wellbeing box”, full of tools to help the schoolchildren relax and take care of themselves.
“The session was not only educational but also inspiring, encouraging pupils to consider future careers in nursing and reminding them of the importance of caring for their bodies, minds and each other.”
