Vaccination is the term used when you are given a vaccine. Immunisation is the process of getting the vaccine and becoming protected from the disease. You are then immune to that disease.
You can find out about Immunisations on the NHS Inform website. You will be able to find out, why you should get immunised and when immunisation takes place in:
- Pregnancy and baby
- Children u 2 years
- Children from 2 to 10 years
- Young people from 11 to 24 years
- Older adults over 65 years
- Children and adults without a fully working spleen (Asplenia)
