Flu Vaccination Programme

It is now even more important that health and social care staff get their flu vaccination.

Cases of flu, RSV and Covid are increasing both in the community and hospital admissions. The increase is having a significant effect on our levels of staff sickness across all our healthcare facilities. This is adding to an already challenging period with pressures across our three acute sites.

The flu vaccine is the best possible protection against the virus which can change from year to year. Most people who get flu will recover in a few days to less than two weeks, but some people will develop complications which can be life-threatening and result in death

We are doing all we can to make it as easy as possible for staff to get their flu vaccination including drop-in sessions at our vaccination clinics and occupational health offering on site vaccinations.

There are drop-in clinics at a number of our vaccination centres. Details are on our website at website at https://www.nhslanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk/covid-19-vaccine-centres/.

If staff are keen to be vaccinated, they can contact the vaccination team on 01698 687456 to arrange a visit.

Anyone who wishes to get their Covid 19 vaccination can also get this along with their flu vaccine.
